Originating from Scotland, tartan patterns have historically represented connected communities and familial groups. Using pre-Industrial Revolution techniques, familial tartans were designed and woven using natural dyes, causing muted tones in the patterns. Today, using modern dyes and weaving techniques, tartans come in various brighter patterns and may represent groups and families beyond Scottish heritages. Acknowledging Scotland as the birthplace of golf, we strive to source the finest wool tartans from Scotland and the British Isles.
