Pendleton® Headcovers

Pendleton® was founded by the Kay family and continues to be the longest running weaving operation in the Pacific Northwest. The company began in the 1850s, when Thomas Kay arrived in the region with sheep, and eventually began weaving trading blankets. These became prized possessions and were used for ceremonial purposes. Men’s apparel came shortly thereafter, resulting in a heavy shirting weight which is the particular fabric we typically select in crafting our head covers. The original name for the Beach Boys was ‘The Pendletones’ named after the wool utility shirt that was popular at the time. For us, Pendleton® connects with golf given that some of the technical patterns represent American culture before golf was here.
