When Glacier National Park was established in 1910, James J. Hill, founder of the Great Northern Railroad, commissioned Pendleton to create an iconic, one-of-a-kind blanket for guests at the park’s lodges. The Glacier Stripe National Park blanket debuted in 1916, in that same year, President Woodrow Wilson signed the Organic Act into law, which created the National Park Service.
The Glacier National Park dopp kit introduces a newly designed style. The fabric is predominantly rich ivory with forest, crimson, gold, and black large-scale stripes that are continuous across the body of the dopp. The Glacier National Park fabric is equipped with a bison deboss leather bottom for a sleek finish. The bison leather bottom adds longevity and structure, as well as ruggedness that is accented on the inner lining. This dopp kit features tan waxed canvas on the interior, which is paired with woodland camo waxed canvas on the inner pocket. Tan Bridle leather is used for the carry strap and is matched on the label tab and brass zipper. Each dopp kit is hand cut and sewn by our team of in-house artisans. Made from 100% wool, milled in the Pacific Northwest. Made in Oregon, USA.
